Google This: The Cult of Cesar Chavez

Some Biographical Information you may have not known about Cesar Chavez:   Google This: The Cult of Cesar Chavez

I am always amazed how the social justice liberation theology crowd (messed up) and those who want to express the preference for the care of the poor (good minded) will hold up people like Cesar Chavez who was highly influenced by Alinsky community organizing and tactics that in no way represent “loving your neighbor” rather than defeat your neighbor at all costs.  This biography points out those who influenced Chavez and it is worth the read.

Pope Issues New Motu Proprio on Charitable Activities: Catholic World Report

Pope Issues New Motu Proprio on Charitable Activities: Catholic World Report

From the Document cited in the article above I pull two quotes:

  1. Art. 7. - § 1. The agencies referred to in Article 1 § 1 are required to select their personnel from among persons who share, or at least respect, the Catholic identity of these works.
  2. § 2. To ensure an evangelical witness in the service of charity, the diocesan Bishop is to take care that those who work in the Church’s charitable apostolate, along with due professional competence, give an example of Christian life and witness to a formation of heart which testifies to a faith working through charity. To this end, he is also to provide for their theological and pastoral formation, through specific curricula agreed upon by the officers of various agencies and through suitable aids to the spiritual life.

  3. From Art. 7 - § 3. In particular, the diocesan Bishop is to ensure that charitable agencies dependent upon him do not receive financial support from groups or institutions that pursue ends contrary to Church’s teaching. Similarly, lest scandal be given to the faithful, the diocesan Bishop is to ensure that these charitable agencies do not accept contributions for initiatives whose ends, or the means used to pursue them, are not in conformity with the Church’s teaching.

Hopefully, this will help to make changes in the CCHD arena where those community organizing initiatives stop funding organizations with backdoors for offensive organizations.  http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/coalition-of-catholic-leaders-reveal-serious-problems-with-cchd-grants

CCHD grants still going to pro-abortion, anti-family groups, says coalition of Catholic leaders | LifeSiteNews.com

Don’t Give to CCHD this weekend (Nov. 17-18, 2012). Choose your Charities Carefully!

CCHD grants still going to pro-abortion, anti-family groups, says coalition of Catholic leaders | LifeSiteNews.com

With the struggle for religious freedom in this country, we have a responsibility to remain brilliantly Catholic.  In the secular world and its laws, we have a problem doing this as faithful Catholics when the USCCB will not even do it for our Catholic Reform_CCHD-229x167institutions.  The lawyering of of this sticky associations and the constant excusing and denial of what our eyes see add greatly to the confusion we Catholics have in seeing the big picture from the pews.

Frankly, our bishops need to stop hiding from us and have the honest dialogue with us. Their acting in committee with majority votes and operation of programs by national staff make the translation of what is actually happening in the bastions of community organizing impossible to address, but they do need to be addressed.  They are accountable to us in the pew who contribute to such programs.  We do not hand them a gun to shoot us with.  We hand them a contribution to alleviate suffering. In my book, that is not a ticket to spend it on community organizing for labor and socialism that is building a welfare state instead of an opportunity state with a safety net.

Book ‘No Higher Power’: Catholic Church Paid to Send Obama to Alinsky-Founded Group’s Training | Receipt | TheBlaze.com

Book ‘No Higher Power’: Catholic Church Paid to Send Obama to Alinsky-Founded Group’s Training | Receipt | TheBlaze.com

So my next purchase for my Kindle library (when it becomes available)  will be No Higher Power by Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr.  The Blaze did an excellent review to wet the reader’s appetite.  I have always been a fan of Phyllis Schlafly.  She has been courageous in her defense of authentic feminism and a role model for the conservative woman’s voice. Women like Mrs. Schlafly are feared by mainstream Republicanism and progressives.  They are those who can change an argument with the face of the dignity of the person put dead center as the innocent victim of dehumanizing policies from the left or the right.  They are the women left out of the discussions in the Church, policy groups and greater politics. When these women do engage and raise their voices, they do so in profound ways.  Phyllis Schlafly has been there to lend her support to them.

Frankly, the CCHD has been no friend to these women.  It has funded those groups who have been unsupportive of the traditional family and its needs.  My vote is to shut its doors.  Read the book!

Must Read: Andrew Breitbart: Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World!

Amazon.com: Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World! (9780446572828): Andrew Breitbart: Books
In this time of all sorts of high flying reaction to such subjects like the contraceptive mandate, the ridiculous Fluke testimony, Presidential primary and the California top two runoff in the wings, we will see the Right stupidly fall for the Alinsky farting treatment in the popular culture.  If you don’t know what I mean by that last statement, read Andrew Breitbart’s (may his soul rest in peace) masterpiece, Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World!    I have been reading it on my Kindle while traveling and I have a hard time putting it down.  It is a book for those who want to get a handle on what needs to be done, and for the scared-who-want-to-play-it-safe conservatives to get a dose of reality.  Read it, and think about it and pass it on to someone else.  When you hear a liberal say something stupid, play the man with the truth one bit at a time.  Make sure it is earshot of someone else and find your niche in the new media of Facebook, Twitter and blogs. If you stop talking, they win. Be a leader, not a serf. Start asking questions.  If the emperor is butt naked, say “THAT MAN HAS NO CLOTHES” and describe how you can tell one fact at a time.

The American Spectator : ACORN's Catholic Guardian

The American Spectator : ACORN's Catholic Guardian:

What a great line! That says it like it is. This article is thorough.
"There's a reason CCHD is mocked as the 'Catholic Campaign to Help Democrats.'"

Update on Community Organizing, ACORN, PACT and PICO

Make sure you read the Human Events article discussing ACORN and other community organizing reports. Then be sure to check out the local PICO groups in California and most especially San Jose (PACT).This is important information when considering a contribution to the Campaign for Human Development and other local Catholic charities. You may want to ask if they have any connection to these groups.

Community Organizing Propoganda Mode to Sell Healthcare?

My Way News - Kennedy bill would make employers provide care

The bill language became public on the eve of the kickoff of a national campaign to rally support for health care legislation that's being orchestrated by Obama's campaign team. Thousands of community events are scheduled around the nation Saturday where tens of thousands of people are supposed to discuss health care issues with their neighbors and create a groundswell for congressional action.

Is this the way we should solve public policy issues...a campaign team driven mob approach? Saying good by to the free market and liberty-valued approach will only bring a solution that will devolve into rationed health care. How many times do we have to see the collapse of healthcare systems before we wake up. Government will define what healthcare is, not doctors or patients. Saul Alinsky would be very proud of the Commander in Chief of Community Organizing. And if it doesn't work out we can blame the people, not the idiotic ideas that caused it in the first place. The road to serfdom advances.
For a look at the comparison of US healthcare versus the Canadian system, the Frasier Institute in Canada published this article in The American Magazine Online. We need to seriously consider what we will give up when government mandates what is in the plan.
